Introduction

Our aim and vision is to make all residential properties more energy efficient and improve the standard of living for all residents and reduce their annual gas and electricity bills.

Over the years, we found ourselves limited to providing our eco services to private homeowners and tenants due to the permissions required in order to carry out any works. As we ventured deeper into each area across London, we came to find that there are thousands of vulnerable properties belonging to either councils or housing associations, which have not received any energy improvement measures. The main reason behind the properties being below the Ofgem energy regulations, were due to no private company able to install any ECO saving measures, without being approved contractors with the council/housing associations.

As leading energy saving specialists, we have put together a unique and detailed programme for councils and housing associations to deal with their large portfolios from survey to installation.

We now work with local authorities to make measurable improvements to all applicable properties in the borough under the Eco2t scheme. Most of the energy measures provided, like loft insulation and cavity wall insulation costs councils little or nothing.

How does it work?

Green Deal Public Relations

We work with the council to identity the type of energy improvement work to be carried out and the properties the work is to be carried out on. Once the work has been completed in the nominated pilot properties, we stay in touch to monitor their energy performance over a period of time, producing before and after comparison reports that show what benefits have been achieved if needed.

Eco Target is proud to be working with local authorities to carry out vital energy efficiency work and to help them meet local and national targets to reduce carbon footprint. Having us on board is a great way for councils to meet their own green targets. The work we carry out can help to significantly raise the council’s profile and build trust and recognition of its environmental contribution among residents.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of all is the potential savings tenants can receive when local authorities work with Eco Target. Tenants will be able to see how energy efficient their homes really are with an EPC and to benefit from advice as to how they can make further improvements. Residents will also see the improvements through warmer, more energy efficient homes and lower energy bills. We can see no better way to help councils improve their profile among residents. It is a great way to demonstrate action on your environmental policies.

FAQ

Until we do not visit a property, we cannot know for certain the degree of heat loss and fuel poverty the property is under. It is important to carry out a thorough inspection of the property by one of our qualified Domestic Energy Assessors advising on the most effective energy saving solution.

For each property that we visit, we carry out a detailed home improvement survey which covers and includes all the following stages

  1. Initial Customer Contact

First impressions say a lot about a company and its way of working. Our first stage of initial contact is via written correspondence to the customer introducing ourselves, the service that we offer and contact details for us so that the customer can make an appointment.

  2. ECO Assessment

A thorough ECO inspection assessment is the primary and fundamental start of the customer’s journey. The assessments are conducted by our experienced DEAs who will spend approximately 20 minutes within the property to understand if the property is viable and able to have an improvement measure carried out.

  3. EPC and recommendations

Alongside the assessment, the DEA collects all supporting evidence and measurements to produce an official EPC. The EPC assessment is conducted within the initial assessment which means we limit the number of times each property and customer is visited.

  4. Booking

Once all the data has been collected for both the survey and EPC, the DEA will book a time and date of installation for the recommended measure (either loft insulation or cavity wall insulation) in the customer’s presence. This allows the customer to have a suitable date and time scheduled as per their availability and convenience.

  5. Office submission

All completed surveys and EPCs are submitted to the office on a daily basis where the admin team works systematically to prepare all files for the installers and funders thereafter. The admin team will be responsible for entering each job onto our database so a record is kept of all properties visited and the results.

  6. Installation

Prior to the installation, the residents will receive written confirmation of their scheduled install date and time via post. All our installers are professionally qualified loft and or wall cavity installers with risk assessments and method statements in place as well as valid insurance policies as standard procedure.
